$2,500,000 | 1987 | San Diego, CA
Description
Asking price based on 50 % ownership
Originally built in 1987 by Deep Sea Marine and extensively refurbished in 2016, this timeless tri-deck yacht fisher boasts explorer yacht capabilities and a modern, contemporary interior. Her significant refit, overseen by McCarter and Associates design, marked a new chapter under her previous owner. The current owner has continued to elevate the yacht's standards, introducing major upgrades such as Gyro and Fin stabilization, a sewage treatment plant, updated electronics, a 4000 lb. davit, AV, and a Savant system. In 2022, a beach club extension further enhanced its appeal. Recently, EL REY also underwent a yard period at Marine Group Boat Works in San Diego, CA, before embarking on two highly successful charter seasons in Mexico and Alaska.

In 2016, all aspects of the interior were revamped. El Rey's layout includes 5 guest cabins accommodating 10 guests, as well as 3 crew cabins and a separate Captain's cabin located behind the pilot house. The cockpit, measuring 16' x 26' and constructed with full teak, features an integrated swim platform, making it suitable for various fishing and diving activities. The Cal deck offers two large teak tables, two built-in settees, and stowable teak chairs, with a day head located to starboard. A spacious salon with warm joinery and soft goods, ample natural light, and a large glass window and door awaits beyond the cockpit, providing a perfect retreat.
A custom bar with a backlit, multi-color changing glass top and a small lounge area are located forward of the salon and midship. The large galley, which is open, airy, and functional and was influenced by a chef during the 2016 update, is situated to the port. Additionally, there is a media room and lounge area with a day head, forward-facing and side windows that create an ideal space to enjoy the surroundings. Access to the foredeck is available through a starboard door, leading to a teak sole and a large hot tub with a seating area facing forward.
Below the main deck forward are 2 guest cabins with ensuite heads, and forward of the guest cabins are 3 crew cabins sharing 2 heads. The owners' cabin, with a full beam master and large ensuite head with a shower and jacuzzi tub, is accessed separately from the main deck. There are two cabins forward with queen berths, both with ensuite heads. The bridge deck offers access to the Portuguese bridge, with two wing stations and forward-facing bench seating. The pilothouse comes with new flat-screen displays, two Stidd helm chairs, a chart table to port, an L-shaped settee and table to starboard, and an office just aft of the helm area. The captain's quarters are furthest aft to port.
A large teak boat deck with teak lounges, teak chairs, and fitness equipment, as well as plenty of toy stowage with a new 4000 lb. davit, can be found. The flybridge, accessible via the boat deck, features a helm station and bench seating covered by a fixed hardtop.
EL REY is a proven cruising yacht that offers a unique platform for exploring. Only once aboard can you truly appreciate what this yacht has to offer, with a range of over 3,000 miles.
